Turkey & Toy Drive

Mesa Arizona Kimball East Stake
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As we enter this season of gratitude, we have the opportunity to bless families in our community who may otherwise go without a Thanksgiving meal. Each ward in our stake has been asked to provide 30 frozen turkeys for the St. Vincent de Paul Turkey Drive.
We know this is a busy time of year, but even one small act can lift a family’s burden. If you are able, please sign up to donate a frozen turkey and drop it off at the Greenfield Ward Building on Tuesday, November 25th between 6:00–8:00 PM. This will be a simple drive-and-drop.
To help us track donations and reach our goal, please use the SignUpGenius link below to claim one of the available slots from your ward.

Thank you for your willingness to serve. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference for those struggling this holiday season.
With gratitude,

Ward Campout

There is a Ward Campout this month, on Friday September 12th & Saturday the 13th. It will be a few miles west of the Forrest Lakes townsite. A porta john will be delivered to the general site as well for group use.
Please advise a member of the Elder’s Quorum Presidency or Tyler/Melissa Stettler if you will attend and the number people you are bringing. The headcount is important for planning the Saturday morning breakfast. There will be crafts for the kids to do as well.
Please plan for Friday night dinner on your own.
Attached is a map of the general area that we will head to and written directions. I am also including a Apple Maps Pin for those who care to use it. There should be some markers for Edgewood Ward at the site to take the guess work out of which group is ours.
General Directions:
From Mesa take State Route 87 (Beeline Highway) to Payson. Then take Highway 260 west towards Forrest Lakes. Once you pass mile post 286, Forrest Service Road 237 is on the left, take it. There are some designated camping spots at the beginning of the FR237 but they are limited to 10 people per site so go past them. The road is a smooth gravel road, and any vehicle or camper will be able to navigate it. After about 2 miles, as you approach the large powerlines there is space for camping to accommodate a larger group. This continues for another 2 miles, but after mile 3 from the 260 the road gets heavy with ruts and pothole. Look for an Edgewood Ward sign.
